About us…

Kirri Media is an Indigenous-owned and lead documentary production company founded by Nyikina producer Shari Hutchison. We are passionate about creating films that illuminate First Nations stories, art, culture, and the environment, amplifying diverse voices and sparking conversations that inspire change.

Our documentaries have screened at festivals nationally and internationally, earning multiple awards and recognition for direction, innovation, and audience impact. From Tee Ken Ng, a profile of one of Australia’s most inventive artists, to Re-imagining Our Futures: Birthing, a powerful exploration of cultural sovereignty and birthing on Country, Kirri Media has established a reputation for storytelling that is authentic, bold, and deeply connected to community.

Documentary is our foundation and our slate is evolving. With new projects in development across themes of cultural strength, environmental sustainability, and future visioning, we remain committed to truth-telling, cultural safety, and creating space for stories that honour the past while imagining better futures.
